Prabowo Subianto Menkritik RI A country that is highly dependent on debt

Poros Nasional. Presidential candidate number 02 Prabowo Subianto criticized Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves (cadev) which were smaller than Singapore. Even though the state of Singapore is much smaller than Indonesia.

Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves stood at US $ 115.2 billion at the end of October 2018. Meanwhile, Singapore's foreign exchange reserves were at the level of US $ 290 billion.

"Our foreign exchange reserves are also ranked 17 in 2017. This is very worrying. Singapore with a smaller size not even bigger than one district in Indonesia can be bigger," Prabowo said at the Indonesia Economic Forum at Shangri-La Hotel, Central Jakarta. On Wednesday (11/21/2018).

Prabowo also mentioned that Indonesian oil palm plantations were far larger than those of neighboring countries. These superior export commodity products should be able to contribute more foreign exchange.

"Our palm oil plantation is bigger than Singapore. Indonesian leaders must see neighbors. I don't blame anyone," Prabowo said.

In addition, Prabowo also highlighted Indonesia's debt currently at the level of Rp 4,478.57 trillion in October 2018. The debt is also called to pay the salaries of civil servants.

"The US has a lot of debt because they have a lot of production and technology. Basically we Indonesia is a country that is dependent on debt. We pay our salaries to the bureaucracy," Prabowo said.
