Not Accepting, Issue Lion Air JT-610 Victims File Lawsuits

Rakyat Digital. The family of survivors of the Lion Air JT610 plane crash recently filed a lawsuit against the Boeing Company in Chicago. In addition to the first lawsuit filed last week, the families of the victims of the fatal tragedy and misfortune are now seeking compensation totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.

Manuel von Ribbeck of Ribbeck Law Chartered stated, he expected many lawsuits to be submitted on behalf of the family in the next few days.

"There is no reason to wait for the final report of the investigation because it could take months or years, the final report will not set obligations, the decision of who is guilty of this accident will be determined by a judge or jury in America," he said on Thursday ( 11/22).

Mr. von Ribbeck, who has a significant record representing the families of victims of global aviation, including several families in previous flight accidents in Indonesia, judging that the Boeing MAX 8 and Manual Flight aircraft were damaged and dangerous, and that was the immediate cause of the accident.

"Lion Air is just one of several airlines that have bought a relatively new Boeing MAX 8," he said.

Deon Botha of Ribbeck Law Chartered said, on November 7, 2018, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a new Emergency Feasibility Guide on Boeing 737 MAX which was directed at what was defined as "unsafe conditions", which may or may not develop on Boeing aircraft 737 MAX others.

"The new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft was designed and produced in the United States," he said.

Investigators have focused on the new automatic flight control system on the Boeing 737 MAX which was not included in the previous 737 version. This new flight control system has the ability to improve the situation where the nose of an aircraft rises to a dangerous level during a flight that can lead to engine failure.

But under the conditions experienced by the Boeing 737 MAX 8 the system pushed the plane's nose down unexpectedly and could not be controlled by the flight crew. Unless previously the flight crew was really instructed and trained to deal with such situations, change the system manually to avoid accidents.

This automatic feature can be triggered even when the pilot is flying the plane manually and does not expect flight control computer interference.

According to reports in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and other publications, Boeing withheld information about the potential hazards associated with this new flight control system. U.S. flight regulator has launched a high-priority review of safety analysis carried out by Boeing for years and what information was disclosed or not disclosed to airlines about this new flight control system.
