Arrmanatha, who is familiarly called Tata, revealed, according to information from the Singapore Corruption Investigation Bureau (CPIB), the action was an individual action and the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore was declared not involved in the case.
"The technical staff at the Indonesian Embassy who were allegedly involved had been withdrawn to Jakarta by the original agency and legal proceedings against those concerned were continued by the legal apparatus in Indonesia," Tata said.
Tata continued, the Indonesian government is ready to cooperate in Mutual Legal Assistance to facilitate legal processes in each jurisdiction.
Previously reported, three Singaporeans, including an insurance agent, were charged with bribery charges on behalf of an official of the Indonesian Embassy. Singapore authorities said the Indonesian Embassy was not involved in this case.
Three Singaporeans charged with the charges were named Yeo Siew Liang James (47), who is an insurance agent for AIG Asia Pacific Insurance and Liberty Insurance; then Abdul Aziz Mohamed Hanib (63), freelance translator; and Chow Tuck Conch Benjamin (55).
